This is a great LED kit. I hesitated for a long time before buying it, but after I received these lights, I did not disappoint.
I checked all the panel lights of gvm models, this 1500D light is probably the best of all their panel lights. Under the 4400K yellow and white LED lights, I got 27,000 lux. the power is amazing, The 1500D actually reached 75W.
The size of the panel light also just met my needs. Compared with other lights, it has a larger light-emitting area. Regarding the size of the bracket, they have also been upgraded, 33inch-80.3inch
The suitcase is a combination of soft and hard shell, which better protects these lights.

Pretty typical GVM light fixture functions with a little more intensity. Like the title states the 7 foot light stands are fine to set aside for speedlights or very light weight accessories. You can’t raise them high enough to use them in a practical situation unless you subject is seated. I really love the fixture, Wish GVM would include a power adapter mount like Nanlite.
Shane Trammel –
The GVM 1500D is the latest addition to my YouTube Studio. Over the last 6 months, lighting has been the focus of my studio overhaul. Lighting has been the weak link in my workflow for a while. That all changes with the GVM 1500D.
About a month ago I purchased the GVM 1000D two light kit and immediately brought it into my YouTube setup. The only problem … I really wanted at least three lights but I only had the two. Enter the 1500D. With the purchase of the GVM 1500D two light kit, I know have four RGB/CCT lights and I’m ready to impress.
The included video should give you a taste of how awesome these lights can make any video look.
The 1500D shares the same software and modes as the 1000D but comes in a wider light format, 1128 led beads and 75 watts of output.
GVM is a well respected brand among the YouTube community and I couldn’t be happier to have these lights in my YouTube Studio. They are very easy to use, have great form, fit, function, and represent great value.
Cool. –
I bought this video light because it has an RGB option, and I can use the “GVM_LED” app to remotely control the color of my smartphone connected to it. There are many different colors to create atmosphere for my video. I found that using the app to select a certain blue or green color makes my video look more intimate. It adds more dimensions to the video. Everything is placed in a beautiful suitcase that can help me store things. It’s easy to put them together and start using them directly from the box.

The lighting set is perfect for multiple background color schemes. The lighting can be adjusted effortlessly. The lights don’t take up much space and can be stored easily.
Every –
A very useful lighting for shooting. The possibility of adjusting the colors in RGB, then, makes it indispensable for shooting with color effects that are read very well by the video cameras.
I’m very happy about is that the lights are really completely silent. So I don’t hear any quiet noise or anything.
Both the lighting element and the tripod are very solid, and the useful carrying bag is a very popular accessory.
Sam –
A really nice shopping experience
Bruce –
Nothing to complain
Mark –
While you can get softbox kits for cheap, these GVM LED panel lights take up significantly less space once set up and provide a better solution for smaller spaces or even desktop use.
Isaac –
The ability to use it with standard NPF batteries provides great mobility and easy light placement without running wires everywhere.
Cecil –
Both brightness and color temperature offer a wide range of adjustability to provide the right lighting for your scene.
Earl –
Although they’re much smaller than umbrella or softbox rigs, the panels deliver light evenly without hot spots, and they spread the light out well.
Moses –
Although the panel is made of plastic, the overall build quality is very good and it feels durable under normal use. The tripod is very sturdy and stable when mounted, very heavy for an aluminum stand.
Alan –
If you’re looking for something more compact than a standard softbox, this two-panel lighting kit is a great option.
Brady –
Overall: I am happy with this set. For me, it’s all about headroom, and these fit the bill. Bi-color lights are a great tool to help match other lights with fixed temperatures, so having four of these panels in a studio goes a long way.
August –
Color Accuracy: I don’t have a colorimeter, but I do rely on my camera and white balance card to dial in the lights for every video I make. All I can say is that the color of the four lights I set up varies between 100 and 300 degrees Kelvin. It’s not much, so I’m happy with the overall performance, but it’s worth noting.
Augustine –
The panels are great so far. The light output is good, although I could always use more power. The softness of the light emitted from the panels is commensurate with the size of these panels. Obviously a larger light source will give softer light at the same distance from the subject, but these are a good size for me.
Kevin –
The panel feels and looks great. Nothing to complain about. The dials and switches on the back provide good enough feedback, and the display is nice and bright. The front white panel elements have a strong feel and a consistent look.
Ellis –
I picked up two of these panels (along with two matching panels from another manufacturer) to help light up my basement hobby studio space. I shoot all kinds of YouTube content there and I’ve been trying to find it for years Proper multipurpose lighting setup, until I came across these panels because their low profile fit the bill perfectly. I can easily mount them to floor joists or old pipes, with super clips giving me plenty of headroom and not having to dodge every time I pass the light panel.
George –
I really like that you can adjust the color temperature to suit your existing environment (so I don’t have to turn off all the regular lights in my office) and the remote is handy. I can turn the lights on and off without getting up from my desk, so if I have a Skype video call, I can turn the lights on and instantly turn on when I join the call. These lights are so awesome I bought two for work and two more for my home office. It turns out I really don’t need two at home, so I sent one to my cousin to use on Zooms and now have three of these panels. For the price, I don’t think there is a better lighting solution for recording video or video calls at your desk or in a smaller studio.
Justin –
These GVM LED video light panels are perfect for shooting YouTube videos or for Zoom calls. One of the lights is enough to go from dark and grainy to well-lit, and the other two give you a professional studio look. These are bright and I install them behind my desk.
Clare –
Panel lights definitely have their advantages. They are lighter, more compact, and provide pleasing light for the camera and your talents. If you’re in the market for a set, I can recommend this one.
Lambert –
The base of the light has a threaded “hole” that allows you to place the light on a regular tripod. I love this versatility.
Philip –
At full extension, the light almost reached my 8-foot ceiling. It’s always nice to be able to get that high.
Dean –
The zippered case/bag has compartments for everything, helping you stay organized and making it easier to organize all your parts when packing.
William –
The stand is fine, although I’m starting to prefer a spring or air-damped center post. To be fair, while these stands aren’t damped, the lights aren’t heavy. Work carefully and carefully.
Angelo –
The ability to adjust the color temperature allows you to adjust your mood. Color temperature adjustment appears to be discrete. This means that instead of very small changes that make the color temperature appear to vary smoothly, as you turn the knob, there are discrete levels. For me this is fine. I don’t need the exact color temperature, just somewhere on the court should be fine.
Leo –
Like most similar light sets, these light sets are designed to illuminate the subject, not the room. Most of my fixtures are too bright for direct viewing at full intensity. The full-intensity light output of these lights won’t burn your eyes like some of my other lights, but it’s strong enough to be uncomfortable. It’s a good balance for the type of lighting I do.
Nathan –
I’m not sure how they did it, but I love it. Panel lights are of course lit by LEDs, but they light up evenly across the panel so you can’t see individual LEDs. The light is soft and even, almost like using a softbox.
Nick –
Love the suitcase and love that everything is in its proper place.
Jeffrey –
Pretty and bright. Good function of the tilt headlights.
Joyce –
Great product! I wish the battery lasted longer, but these are very nice, flexible and well done. The only problem is that kelvin #’s are backwards – but no big deal.
Antony –
They work great! Bright and good quality
Jim –
Large panels, adjustable lighting, and more, are more than just what I need for Zoom video conferences. The only downside is that it takes a few minutes to set up, and there are a few screws that can get lost. When I run out of light boards, I just have to be careful and put them in the case.
Andy –
1 set of photos. Close photo 2. on photo 3. I tested it with only one light. I’m already ecstatic about my upgrade. I’ve used dinosaur sets with expensive bulbs, but never, and they take a long time to install and remove. Everything is included in this affordable bundle, but you can buy the battery pack separately. Looking forward to getting these and going wireless in my outdoor portrait photos.
Maxwell –
I finally broke down and bought a set of LED panel lights for my video studio to replace my compact fluorescents. I really like that this LED panel set has an adjustable white temperature, they are dimmable and emit less heat, and they are more compact and portable.
Jason –
I like this better than a normal softbox light, bright and the stand is sturdy 🙂 and the price is great
Carl –
Amazing quality light! Glad I went to the bigger lights. My video looks fine now. Always the best video in a conference call.
Ernest –
I like this! ! ! ! ! High quality, high brightness and easy to control! The best light I’ve ever made for a video
Calvin –
Really happy with this purchase! They look incredible and perform well. There’s a lot of variety in brightness. My only complaint is that the legs are just mediocre. They’re durable, but can be finicky when it comes to setup. Other than that, they’re really easy to use and I like to control them with the remote.
Baird –
Bought these to make YouTube videos of vintage pedal machines that I collect and restore. One of the stands was damaged and was replaced promptly upon notification to GVM! (They let me know about this.) Love the ability to change the color and overall brightness to suit my needs. They were very bright so I dimmed them to set – much better than not being bright enough! So glad I got these and the smaller ones. Also bought a set of rollers as a background, love those. I am using a heavier paint cloth for the background. There is still a lot to learn! ! Lighting is very, very important and these work great! !
Merlin –
Bought this kit for our vet. I’m running a photo booth with props and I need a proper lady because we’ll be outside at night. But boy, it works just fine. Since then, I’ve used it to make some videos and shoot some headshots for our company’s employees. great, love that it’s easy to transport
Keith –
These lights are easy to put in the stands and act with them. After using the umbrella light for a year, I have only used it once and I love the simple setup. You can control the brightness and color of the lights, and the light panels themselves can be adjusted to almost every angle – these lights are great for anyone looking to shoot auditions or home music videos. I’ll probably still use the umbrella light for the backlight and use the two panel LED lights for my keys and cross lights.
Wright –
I’ve never owned any other lights, bought this pair for my work-from-home office and they are really great. Almost always use the warmest color and lowest brightness, which is enough for good lighting. Sometimes when I need to record some video it adds a little brightness. The remote is also handy, especially one that controls two lights. The stands are also good, high enough and enough adjustment points, so nothing to complain about. I set them up permanently and don’t carry them anywhere, so can’t speak to portability, but assuming I can fit them in the included bag, it should be fine.
Elijah –
These are the best lights I’ve ever used. In a perfect world, they would produce more light intensity, but everything else would be A+.
Will –
Excellent color reproduction. I didn’t detect any spectral shift. I can set up my WB and go.
Byron –
While they struggle as primary lights, they are excellent secondary lights. I mostly use them to manage shadows in larger spaces.
Bennett –
I love that you can easily adjust the temperature and intensity of the lights. You can quickly dial in the exact lighting combination you want.
Luther –
I’m stingy with my coins you guys, so I don’t want to spend so much for the lights, but when I tell you I absolutely love these lights? ! ? ! They’re perfect for my YouTube content, and they run on battery so you can take them outside too. 10/10 Recommended! ! The remote is clutched and can be adjusted while seated. The included bag for storage is stylish and easy to transport.
Harry –
GVM is a well-respected brand in the YouTube community and I’m very happy to have these lights in my YouTube studio. They are very easy to use, have great form, fit, function and represent great value.
Victor –
This GVM LED studio lighting panel works amazingly. For what you get and for the quality you get, you can’t beat GVM for the price. It can be controlled by mobile phone via bluetooth. Looking forward to when GVM will release the softbox for this LED panel. But the lights aren’t just their own, and the carrying case is also very nice.
Arthur –
About a month ago, I purchased the GVM 1000D two-light kit and immediately dropped it into my YouTube setup. Only problem…I really want at least three lights, but I only have two. Enter 1500D. After purchasing the GVM 1500D two-lamp kit, I knew there were four RGB/CCT lamps and I was ready to impress. The accompanying video should give you an idea of ??how great these lights can make any video look. The 1500D shares the same software and modes as the 1000D, but features a wider range of light formats, 1128 LEDs and 75 watts of output.
Dylan –
The GVM 1500D is the newest addition to my YouTube Studio. Lighting has been the focus of my studio overhaul for the past 6 months. Lighting has been the weak link in my workflow for some time now. The GVM 1500D changes all that.
Dennis –
I bought this video light because it has an RGB option and I can use the “GVM_LED” app to remotely control the color of a smartphone connected to it. There are many different colors to give my videos an atmosphere. I found that using the app to choose a certain blue or green made my videos look more intimate. It adds more dimension to the video. Everything comes in a nice carrying case that helps me store things. It’s easy to put them together and start using them straight from the box.
Jack –
App control (a ton of help) is super bright! Lots of LEDs for RGB and white. RGBW – White generates its own white, not RGB trying to generate white. Many people overlook the importance of this. They come with a nice carrying bag and tripod. They work with batteries, so you don’t always have to find a plug. Plastic Blinds – This helps lighten the carry-on load. Some might consider it lower quality, but it blocks light just as much as metal does. Only 1/10 of the weight.
Basil –
Why take portraits? The width alone will allow you to span their face from end to end without the need for additional lights to illuminate the sides. Best of all, the sheer number of these LEDs makes them super bright.
Maxwell –
These lights are solid, I mean really solid all metal construction. Everything about them seems to be well done and sturdy. They also put out a lot of light and last a long time with rechargeable batteries. The dimmer makes it easy to adjust the color temperature, and the balance of white and yellow beats makes for plenty of light. They are amazingly cheap and I am very happy with my set.
Hogan –
I ordered these for my son for a green screen for his youtube channel and the carrying case they come with is perfect for when we are on the move. A very affordable set of lights!
Charles –
Bought these to up my content game and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. These lights are easy to install, take apart for travel, and are super bright! ! I also like how they adjust with warm and cool. Nice addition to your content device. @darriskin on tiktok
Albert –
We love these lights for our small office studio. These are two of the three lights we used when making the video, and the lighting is fantastic. Get them if you’re thinking about making small videos.
Derrick –
These are great for YouTube. Want to see them work? Watch episodes of The Behaviour Group after April 10. If I’m not sitting on the big brown chair, that’s when I’m out of town. But beyond that, you’ll see how well they work. Perfect!
Kevin –
Great lighting for video work and works exactly as expected! The power cord is long enough. The stand is sturdy. I am very satisfied, the seller is very professional and polite. I will definitely buy this brand again. I’m not sure if I still need a ring light, but that might come in the future 🙂
Valentine –
I usually use these to record in my studio, but I also started setting them up to get some great pictures. I have some fixed LED arrays that I like to use when I’m in the studio, but now that I have these, I’d like to get into the bi-color LED world first. Great value for money.
Kennedy –
Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for. The bi-color LED setup is excellent and I love the ability to power them with 1 or 2 standard size NP-F series battery packs. Having it in your arsenal makes it easier to move the lighting stand around to get the perfect shot you want, or use extra lighting when shooting outdoors.
Richard –
Easy to set up and easy to use. The folded edges really help focus the light. I’m a beginner so this kit is perfect for me to start doing video projects indoors. I did want to try setting the lights outside, but have done it.
Hamiltion –
Not a bad solution for my home YouTube and streaming setup. They are very bright and easy to adjust, but it would be nice if they had a display that showed the actual color temperature. Still, definitely 5 stars for the price.
Tom –
The GVM1500D kit has been impressive so far. I use these for studio photography. The lighting used for portrait or product shots is very bright. The light temperature range is good, although a display in K or some color temperature indication would be nice???. I also picked up a battery kit and the lights on one or two batteries seem to work just fine.
Murphy –
very good. The bi-color (yellow/white) of this array is excellent, and I appreciate the ability to power them with 1 or 2 standard size NP-F series battery packs. The light stand can easily be moved around to get just the right look, or to compensate for changing natural light sources. I use them for video work, but will try studio lighting this weekend. I have used many fixed LED arrays in a studio environment, but this is my first foray into the world of bi-color LEDs. I look forward to exploring this capability further.
Donald –
I make videos every day and use these lights every day. The room I used was a 10×10 and one of the lights was more than enough. On the rare occasion I’m recording in my living room, I do use two lights. I love that you can adjust the lighting intensity and color from bright to warm and everything in between. The tripod is nice and I extend it all the time. It has been poured over once, but nothing has been damaged.
Lyndon –
I bought these for my business. We’re getting ready to shoot our first pro-level commercial later this month, and I’d like to have professional lighting for the video shoot. We unboxed it yesterday and wow, these are all lit up. They’re easy to set up, they can be used without an AC adapter if you buy the batteries separately, and they’re affordable. I also like the way they carry the travel bag. They have a lot of foam inside, and cutouts for the lights and AC adapter.
Jim –
While this isn’t the most expensive backlight kit, it’s not the cheapest either. The technology on this packaging is great, the quality is equally…well done. So of course you want everything in good working order. I’m grateful that the folks at GVM met my request effortlessly. Grateful!
Sam –
This review is entirely based on my customer service experience at GVM. There are many helpful comments about the quality of the light kit. Yes, I’ll give a thumbs up! However, when I discovered a problem with one of the tripod’s knobs (the ones used to stabilize the feet), I called GVM customer service and spoke with Ken, who quickly resolved my issue. They did admit to a possible manufacturing defect, had me send images to make sure they understood where the defect was, and quickly sent a replacement bracket within a day or so. No hassle, no need to ship back a faulty stand. Seamless!
Vic –
This is a great light for photography beginners or people who just want to use lighting for different purposes. If you’re on the go, I like that you have the option to plug in or use a separate battery. The tripod can feel a little unstable at times, but I can live with it because I feel like I almost never trip or hit it as long as I pay attention. just things to remember
Sebastian –
My company wanted me to do virtual interviews for marketing purposes, so I needed better webcam lighting, so I bought two of these. The stand is very flexible, and I like the separate cool and warm LED dimmers. These have a good range and are brighter than I need.
Nelson –
These lights made a huge impact.
Edgar –
These are also super portable and come with a carrying case that’s perfect for on-the-go. The whole set of equipment is well made and perfectly suited to our needs.
Arthur –
We love these lights. Bought them about a year and a half ago and use them about twice a week to shoot self-recorded auditions. They work great! The light is adjustable from white to yellow, and you can control the amount of yellow or white through the dial (not limited to only white or only yellow, you can set the dial to suit your needs).
Merlin –
They are easy to set up and adjust, and the stand is well made. I use these mostly for video, give me good lighting and a green screen and they do a great job.
Tony –
I bought these to replace 2 incandescent bulbs that use 300 watt bulbs. They are smaller and lighter, and provide similar light in terms of brightness and warmth (when both whites and yellows are set to full brightness). The biggest benefit is that the room doesn’t get hot from the high wattage.
Julian –
Most importantly, I totally recommend these.
Elijah –
These are 1000% improvements over bulky softboxes. Using these, you will be donating your softbox to Goodwill. Since I’m doing a studio shoot, I don’t use batteries. The power supply works fine.
Thomas –
I use these to make YouTube videos. My initial concern was whether they would emit enough light to do the job. Don’t worry; they’re bright. Having said that, I only do “talking head” shots at the normal two-light setup. Each light is approximately 6′ – 8′ from the talent. Wider lenses may require additional lights. .
Nicholas –
The quality of the stand is good enough and the controls are very easy to use. They are great value for money and for video and photography they make a huge impact! These two colors help you easily create the look you want on your skin. Conclusion: Totally recommended.
Gale –
Excellent gloss and durability. Well constructed and durable. I bought these lights in May 2019 and as of today in January 2021 they are still working like day one with heavy weekly use.
Larry –
The advantage of these lights is the black barn door. They deflect light well and control temperature and direction. The light panel also has a dimmer for heating and cooling. The battery plate is for Sony batteries, so if you need these to work when you can’t power them from a wall charger, they’ll be on the road quickly thanks to the storage bag. Comes with a power adapter so it’s very convenient in any home, office or studio.
Philip –
When I originally ordered these, my plan was to replace my old studio lights with smaller LED panels so I could get them closer to my subjects. They come with two very nice tripods and are heavier than the tripods that come with my other studio lights. I’m sure these brackets will hold up without a problem.
