If you want to travel without power cords, you¡¯ll need to buy batteries for these as none are included, but for the price you get a great product!

I like this lamp very much. The RGB function is very easy to use. You can use remote control and contact to the mobile phone to control the color of lamp. You can control the lamp from a distance, and you don’t need to control the button of the lamp every time you adjust it, you just need to operate it on the mobile App. It’s really very convenient!

I had an issue with the back display on one of them. The support team was quick to respond and get me up and running. It’s good to have a company that stands behind their product.
I am using them mostly for an office green screen setup and will probably also use them for when I take portrait shots. The phone app to control all 3 is also nice.

I tried to find what I disliked about these lights as soon as I played with them the first few times, but nothing. I’m a videographer for a comedian and I also do photoshoots often. I must say anyone looking to purchase these vs. Only the temperature controlled ones- pick these RGBs. That little bit of extra money is worth the investment! These can be used in a professional line of work, as well as for niche videos/photos. The app control is nice, but I’d personally rather walk up to each light and manually adjust it(Yes, it takes time, but no more than 5 minutes to set up all the lights).

My daughter is building her e-commerce business, sleepwear and lingerie. She is building her own online catalogue with pics and vids using her own models. I have to say that, from what I’ve seen so far, I think she will do well. I’ve been helping as I can. One thing is creating her photography and videography studio here a home. We now have the two piece ambient lighting kit, the camera slider and now the three piece ‘scene setting’ lighting set. This three light set is so cool. All three lights can be controlled by the app, independently or any combination of ‘master and slave’ settings. They have a nice variety of lighting effects; disco, party, cops, lighting, paparazzi, candles, TV glow, flickering bad bulbs with any degree of intensity from 0 – 100% and removable diffuser panels. Super easy to set up with tripod stands that adjust to up to 8 feet tall. The whole set comes in a well designed carrying case and individual velour bags for each component and stand. The app is easy to operate and makes controlling the lights a breeze. Great purchase. Thanks GVM. Five stars.

Wow. Just wow. As an amateur photographer i was a bit hesitant to spend so much money on lightning as i was not entirely sure of the benefits or if my skill level would hold up to the experience needed to properly work lighting into my photographs. After being recommended these by a friend in the industry i can confidently say my skill level or any skill level can easily master the ease of use for these.
The lights are extremely user friendly and easy not only to use and set up but light weight enough that relocation is a breeze too especially given the included carry case. The color changing capabilities in addition to the warm and soft lighting abilities give you the perfect shot every time with just a flip of a button.
My favorite feature by far is the 360 degree rotating bracket. It makes outdoor shots a breeze when trying to counteract the setting or rising sun for wedding or family portraits. So extremely versatile to any need definitely an amateur or really any photographers dream lighting experience.
They are so very durable and well made as well. Not a metal expert either but pretty sure this is high quality material and definitely high quality lcd lighting with every bit of 3200k-5600K and 40W these can get as bright as you could ever need. You can tell the manufacture definitely cares about having a product that not only works amazing but will last for years to come.

I purchased these additional gvm lights to take advantage of the special light modes. I can cycle through the modes using the Mode push button to arrive at the Special Light mode and this allows me to adjust two settings BRG for brightness using the BRR dial, and the up/down arrows to cycle between the 8 different light modes. The included instruction manual or product listing did not provide much detail so here is what I discovered when using the Special light options.
Cop Car is the standard flashing Red/Blue lights. I used to simulate this using two DMX controlled lights with a DMX controller for shooting a product video of a emergency seat belt tool inside a truck. Now I can setup this same effect in less than 10 seconds with this special light mode on the GVM 800D-RGB.
Candle: flickering yellow with slight green tint
TV: pulsating mix of white with various gray saturation.
Bad Bulb: Has the appearance of an incandescent bulb that is about to go out with flickering and off lighting states.
Party and Disco are very close to the colors and lighting pattern with the party having a consistent rolling waves of colors while the disco has more strobe pattern.
Paparazzi is randon lighting of bright whites to look like flash photography. This will be cute for kids parties with red carpet walks.
Lightning can be used to make it look like a storm is outside onto your set.
I position these lights at different points around my vehicles when creating product videos to show police lights and a storm.

Great lights for the value. We had purchased some other light sets previously and ended up returning those, but are definitely keeping these lights. They work very well for product photography.

These lights do a wonderful job of adding to the collection as they perform wonderfully. They aren’t the brightest lights out there, but at this price point, their brightness is comparable to just about everything else like it. Only these offer a little more in the means of features.
For one, like any light, it doesn’t take rocket science to set any of it up outside of downloading the app and connecting the lights (if you haven’t done that before with any of their connected lights). Within a few moments, the lights are up and going. They have two dial controls on the back that allow for (1) adjusting brightness and (2) adjusting hue, saturation, and temperature. You then have a mode with up and down arrow to flip through the options with (mode also initiates the Wifi reset process).
They each have two battery slots on the back for mobile use. They don’t come with any batteries but they do come with the AC cords for regular wall power (for each light). If you have the Sony batteries that they support (they should have their own version of the battery style as well as some of their other lights), they would make for great mobile lights thanks to their low weight.
The app process is simple and it doesn’t take long to walk your way through getting them connected to it. A few moments with the instructions and you’re off and running with that as well. This is what makes this light so valuable for your shoot since you don’t have to run around to adjust them by hand. Not only can you control them from the app, but they can be set up in host/slave configuration so that you are only adjusting one light, and then any light you have after that can follow along with whatever that light does. Perfect for making quick changes to your setup.
Not only that, but they have special themes, such as party modes, a paparazzi flash effect, and a lightning effect. These are pretty cool (we especially liked the paparazzi effect and will most likely make use of that in a project at some point, just because it is there). This makes them a great candidate for videos all the same.
The presentation of the product, in general, is nice. It comes with a nice padded/soft carrying bag to store everything in. When you open it, everything looks well organized and protected in individual felt bags so they remain in good condition between setups (assuming you keep the bags and don’t just throw everything back into the case without them to save time).
As I mentioned, they are light in weight, which makes them good for travel or moving them around. The quality of materials is just right, along with the tripods (although they are a bit stiff to open up for some reason). They feel like they will last a long time, which is important when you are looking for a return on your investment.

It¡¯s a great compact lighting set that fists great in my small studio / office. They provides sufficient illumination for my video production needs with fully adjustable dials to control color temperature and light intensity.
The tripod is light weight and can be extended very tall (about 87 inches!)

Let¡¯s talk about the main purpose for the buy. Great Price for an RGB Bi Color option with portability and control with option of battery power also. They do require both batteries in for them to function and they do not recharge while plugged in to the power brick. The 3 light kit works great as accent lights in low light or no light photography/video close to the subjects and background filler. Great kicker/rim lights for its use and compliment to primary light. If you need a softer light, put a fabric diffusion flag In front. The onboard diffusion does ok and can slide out. Remember there are pull tabs that lock the diffusion from sliding out.
As for quality, it does it¡¯s best for the price point. It does creek and groan a bit when setting its position with the yoke and stand. If it gets windy, watch out for them not staying put. Use them on a sturdier stand or on a extension arm, they are fairly light. Dials have nice tactile detent for values but are at 1% increments. For faster dialing in of a light output and color, use the phone app. There is a small delay when using the app but it is bearable Also the mode buttons are clicky so you can tell what cycling modes or menu functions your at. Prepare also for giving yourself about 2min to take off and on the barn doors on one unit with an Allen key by hand. Also be carful with the dials getting knocked, they stick out and are prone to easy damage probably if they crush against other gear.
Again, they are great lights for the price. Don¡¯t expect output and quality like apurture, luxli or Rotolite that are double the money for just one light. They are a great grab and go kit for small close quarter projects.

I couldn’t be happier with these lights. When I came across these lights and saw that they can do colors instead of just your standard white light and also make them blink, I had to have them. I have run them through several tests and I am super impressed with all the results. The lighting is adjustable which is a good thing because at the highest level, these lights are super bright. they are actually blinding if you look straight into them when they’re focused at your eyes. They come with built in light mode settings such as disco lights, party lights, paparazzi lights which blink like cameras and a candlelight mode. What’s even better about these lights is that using the the scannable barcode you can download the phone app to control the lights even more so than from the panel. With the phone app you can change the colors and use them for uplighting to really set a room off. I plan to use that for wedding receptions and parties and then switch over to the blinking party lights once the dancing gets going. These lights in just bright white can be adjusted down to soft white for different environments when shooting photographs. This is a must-have for indoor photo shoots. In my video I show you the type of battery it takes to use these lights in an environment without electricity. To get these batteries just type in NP – f750 battery in the search bar on Amazon. Amazon sells them with the chargers and without the charger and also in the jumbo size which I show in my video. I thought the batteries would still have some charge on them when I went to do this video but they were dead. The tripods included in this set are sturdy. Once you get the hang of how to fold them up they fold up nicely. I actually fold up opposite of a speaker stand tripod that I use for DJing. But once I figured that out I was able to collapse them just fine. They come with nice pouches for the tripods so they don’t touch each other in the case and get scratched. the included case fits everything perfectly with foam inserts and the outside is a soft hard shell. This set of lights has really exceeded by expectations and they are really going to up my game. If you’re looking for a really good set of lights that are multifunctional, you can’t go wrong with these lights. I might even use them working on my car one day because you could tilt the lights downward and point towards your engine bay. I highly recommend this light set!

I’m very pleased with the overall quality, as well as its design and functionalities and features offered by this light. We’ve been doing a lot of indoor/studio shooting for our kids since we have been staying and doing lot of things at home due to the pandemic. I have a good kit to do amature studio photoshoot style with different kinds of themes including back drops and decoration. However, before buying this LED light set, I bought a traditional style studio light kit which uses CFL light bulbs with those big reflective umbrella looking stand, that worked out ok but it’s very bulky, takes up lot of space and it’s not versatile at all. I couldn’t change the lighting level or light temperature very easily and everything was pretty much analog. So my wife and I decided to purchased this RGB light set and we’re very pleased with its performance so far. First of all, with this light set, we could adjust the brightness level easily through the controls on the light as well as changing the light temperature color between 3200K to 5600K on the 2nd control knob. However, if we go through the Android’s app, which is called, GVM Easily, it opens a whole new world of possibilities and functionalities for us. First of all, we could changing any light setting by the touch of our fingers using our phone, no need to go to the light and change it there. Secondly, with the app, we now can change the light RGB color and basically pick out any colors we want from the available color palette. Thirdly, since this set comes with 3 different lights and stand, we were able to chain them up through the app and controls the main light will also change the other 2 lights set as well. These light set comes with the power adapters only, so for now, it’s not very mobile, which is ok for us because we’re only using it at home. However, these light panels do have 2 lithium batteries slot and can be powered by the NP-F970 Battery or equivalent models, but those are not included and have to be purchased separately. With those batteries, it would make this light set truly a remarkable lighting system for any photoshoot or video recording session because the case it comes with can hold everything and it’s very sturdy. Would be a 6 stars from me if they include all those batteries in this pack… lol…
You’re Perfect Studio –
I have a lot of lights from various companies but these were my first GVM. I liked them so much I bought six and use them every day. Hands down the best value in continuous lights and extremely versatile. The case they come with is excellent. The light stands are sturdy. It doesn’t say it in the item description, but in the manual it says the CRI is 97+ I believe it, the color in daylight mode is great.

The lights work great, very bright and lots of customization (I bought the three-light set). I wish the remote control app controlled all of the functions of the lights (it’s really focused on a few features). For example, I would really like to have the ability to have the lights in one of the “special” modes (like police or party) and be able to turn the lights off and on remotely. Even better would be the ability to adjust the settings for those special modes from my phone.
The original case they sent me was wonky, but a quick note (and a photo) to their support e-mail address got me a new case in the mail in just a few days. This is not my first GVM product and they’ve been responsive to every question.
I haven’t yet actually used these for a shoot, and I’ll probably have to fuss with them a bit, but everything I’ve tried testing them out has worked as advertised. I haven’t tried the slave and master settings yet, for example.
For the price I don’t think you can do better.

I love these lights. They do exactly as advertised and look/feel professional. I was surprised when opening the case how professional everything was packaged. I didn’t have to put anything together, just put the light on the stand and you’re good to go. You don’t need the app to control the rbg so no worries about your data.

I am a videographer looking to add lighting to my set. I was struggling to find one that had the RGB function along with daylight dimmable light. This has blown me away. I bought the three lights LED and later on added the softbox with eggcrates. Very usable especially in a small to mid size rooms. The special effects are ok, they do it justice but its like every other preset out there (but wasnt looking for that and it was more of a bonus).
I use it as a three light set up in interviews and music videos and it will get the job done! If you have a bigger set, i would look into larger lights and look at the aperture brands.
The case it comes with is awesome. I can fold up everything in one suitcase with the three stands. I bought batteries for it but often use the wire more often. I havent fully tested out the battery life but I think it was about 2 hours what i read.
The app works: I read so many stupid reviews saying it doesnt work. Just understand to switch one to master and rest slave. I dont think they were doing this. If you dont want the app, you can manually set up the light. Super easy.
I def advise on the softbox as it removes the hard shadows and gives it more natural look. I would buy 3 more if i needed it!

I love the amount of control I have in these lights being able to change the colors from my phone is so convenient and they’re pretty bright as well. Lights are studier than they look and have withstood so harsh freezing weather, but take care of them and they’ll last you a while.

I have been a commercial photographer for 40 years and can tell you that these little lights are amazing for tabletop work. I always loved working with continuous light but almost always used strobe lighting because continuous lighting generated so much heat. These are super cool.
Also, any minor repair of my strobe lights costs more than a three light kit of the of these LED lights. You can’t beat that.
When I received them, there was a minor problem with one of the lights, but it was replaced without issues and shipped the same day!!! I will be buying another set of these, as my product setups often require more lights.

These lights are amazing. I bought them used and everything came almost perfect except for packaging being messed up. These lights change in a 360 wheel on the app. Any color you want you can have. For my YouTube studio I use 1 light for white daylight, the other 2 are colored to hit the background. It gives it a very nice effect. My YouTube videos are 100x better now and I feel as though I will grow making this investment. I highly recommend getting this light kit. Don’t cheap out on lights.
